Autos In Transit and our partnering car transport companies combine for years of experience, and are apart of the people behind the auto shipping industry. We ship throughout the United States, and will help you understand how to transport a car with these steps:

Step 1 – Submit Your Transporting Information

Enter your shipping information into our auto transport quote generator to your left. Double check your work to ensure accuracy before submitting it for review to one of our auto transport brokers. To ensure that your quote is as accurate as possible, please make sure that the running condition and open/enclosed fields are correct. An operable or inoperable vehicle can make a different in the auto transport quote. Also, requesting open auto transport or enclosed auto transport can make a difference in the quote.

Step 2 – Receive 6 To 8 Auto Transport Quotes

You will start receiving six to eight individual auto transport quotes from separate car transport companies. We stand by, “We Do The Work For You!” We have already done the research, read the reviews, and most importantly, have years of experience with our hand-selected, premium auto transport companies. These companies know they are competing for your business, and know they have to give you a reasonable auto transport quote.

Step 3 – Connect with the Auto Transport Carrier

Once you select the car transport company you feel fits your particular transporting needs, they will contact you to collect the origin and delivery addresses, ask for a person of contact for both origin and delivery locations, and the best way to reach everyone involved. This step is implemented for the car carrier to double check the requested transport information, and for you to ensure its accuracy.

Step 4 – Stick With One Auto Transport Company

The car transport company will now begin the work on your specified transport. It is important to understand the following:

Work with only ONE company…

A duplicate bidding war on the auto transport load board occurs when multiple companies that are found on the internet are contacted. It is almost impossible to know if a transport company’s website is an actual carrier, broker or lead generation website. Working with multiple companies will drive your price up. We stand by the quotes we provide, and ask you to please allow us to do the work for you!

Step 5 – Receive & Agree to the Final Cost

Once we have a car carrier established, we will get in touch with you, and go over the pickup and delivery dates/times to ensure they work with your schedule. Once you agree to the terms and conditions, we will send you over the contract with any additional information, the initial and final payment amounts, and how to pay for each. The initial payment is taken by either debit, credit, or PayPal. The final payment for transporting a car is paid in full by either cash or certified funds.

Step 6 – Most Important: The Bill of Lading

The car carrier will contact you at least one hour prior to pickup. They will give you a general idea of exactly what time they can pick it up. Once they arrive, a car inspection report is done on the Bill of Lading, and it is extremely important you maintain a copy of the Bill of Lading. There is usually one master copy along with two additional carbon copies. The car will then be loaded onto the car transport carrier, and your vehicle is now officially in transit.

Step 7 – The Final Step Is Receiving Your Car At Its Destination

The car transport carrier will contact you or the person you appointed about an hour prior to their arrival at the destination. Once the car is unloaded, another inspection is done on the same Bill of Lading used for pickup. Once the inspection is approved, the final payment is due to the carrier in cash or certified funds.
